3) Toner level detection
• When the toner volume sensor in the toner hopper detects no toner remaining,
while the toner bottle is continuously rotating, the "Add toner" message will be
displayed but the machine will continue to operate. However, if the toner
concentration level falls below a specified level, a " U13 " is displayed and the
copier is disabled. The machine may be used if the key operator resets the
"Add toner" message by pressing the appropriate keys on the control panel.
However, after illumination of the " U13 " indicator the machine will be disabled
after approximately 300 copies.
* This feature is dependant on the settings of F5-59 & 63 .
The "Add toner" indication is cleared by replacing the toner bottle.
4) Detecting the toner bottle position
• Insert the toner bottle in the hopper and turn to the specified position.
Accordingly, the toner bottle shutter opens and is able to add toner to the
hopper.
• The bottle home position sensor which is mounted in the toner hopper detects
the position of the toner bottle and the toner bottle stops turning at the specified
position.
