Setting the high dynamic range (HDR)
The camera can record in hybrid log gamma (HLG) when [1080-59.94P]/[1080-50P]/[1080-59.94i]/[1080-50i]/[1080-23.98PsF]/[720-59.94P]/[720-50P]
are selected in the main menu
→ [SYSTEM] → [SYSTEM MODE] → [LINE&FREQ].

t When [HLG] is selected in the main menu → [PAINT] → [GAMMA] → [GAMMA MODE SEL], the following setting menu cannot be set. [DRS], [Y
GET], and [B.GAMMA] assigned to the <USER> button are also disabled.
- [MASTER GAMMA], [BLACK GAMMA], and [B. GAMMA RANGE] in the main menu
→ [PAINT] → [LOW SETTING]/[MID SETTING]/[HIGH
SETTING]
- [KNEE APE LVL] in the main menu → [PAINT] → [ADDITIONAL DTL]
- [[S] MANUAL KNEE], [KNEE MASTER POINT], [KNEE MASTER SLOPE], [[S] WHITE CLIP], [WHITE CLIP LVL], [A.KNEE POINT], [A.KNEE LVL],
[A.KNEE RESPONSE], [DRS MODE], [DRS EFFECT DEPTH], [[S] HI-COLOR SW], and [HI-COLOR LVL] in the main menu → [PAINT] → [KNEE/

- [MASTER GAMMA], [R GAMMA], [B GAMMA], [F-REC DYNAMIC LVL], [F-REC BLACK STR LVL], [V-REC KNEE SLOPE], and [V-REC KNEE
POINT] in the main menu → [PAINT] → [GAMMA]
- [GAMMA] in the main menu → [PAINT] → [[S] CAMERA SETTING]
- [AUTO KNEE SW] in the main menu → [CAMERA] → [SW MODE]
- [LOW LIGHT LVL] in the main menu → [VF] → [VF DISPLAY]
- [COLOR CHECK] in the main menu → [MAINTENANCE] → [SYSTEM CHECK]
t When the main menu → [SYSTEM] → [SYSTEM MODE] → [REC FORMAT] is set to [DVCPRO HD/60P]/[DVCPRO HD/60i]/[DVCPRO HD/50P]/
[DVCPRO HD/50i] and a video is recorded with hybrid log gamma, a warning message is displayed for approximately three seconds on the viewfinder
and LCD monitor. Information for the hybrid log gamma, BT.709, and BT.2020 cannot be recorded at this time although a video can be recorded.
t A clip with proxy data recorded with the recording format of the proxy data set to AVC-G6 and hybrid log gamma BT.709 cannot be played back in P2

Play back using Windows Media Player in Windows or VLC Media Player Ver.2.0 and above.
Recording in high dynamic range (HDR)

Select [HLG] in the main menu → [PAINT] → [GAMMA] → [GAMMA MODE SEL].
The output will be as follows.
f <SDI OUT1> terminal: Outputs an image in high dynamic range (hybrid log gamma).
f <SDI OUT2> terminal: Outputs an image in high dynamic range (hybrid log gamma) or standard dynamic range (monitoring gamma) as set in the
main menu
→ [I/F SETUP] → [OUTPUT SEL] → [SDI OUT2 HDR].
f <HDMI OUT> terminal and <VIDEO OUT> terminal: Converts an image as the monitoring gamma for output.
f Viewfinder and LCD monitor: Converts an image as the monitoring gamma for output.
Press the <USER> button to which [VF/LCD HLG] is assigned to view the image of the hybrid log gamma output temporarily.

t Records in BT.709.
t The characters and level of the marker of the <HDMI OUT> terminal become slightly larger and the color of the menu changes slightly.
t [SDI OUT2 HDR] can only be select when main menu → [PAINT] → [GAMMA] → [GAMMA MODE SEL] is set to [HLG].
Playing back the signal recorded in high dynamic range (HDR)
Detects the recorded information and sets as follows.
r When recorded information is in high dynamic range
f <SDI OUT1> terminal: Outputs the recorded image directly in high dynamic range (hybrid log gamma).
f
<SDI OUT2> terminal: When the main menu → [I/F SETUP] → [OUTPUT SEL] → [SDI OUT2 HDR] is set to [ON], the recorded image is output
directly in high dynamic range (hybrid log gamma).
When the main menu
→ [I/F SETUP] → [OUTPUT SEL] → [SDI OUT2 HDR] is set to [OFF], the recorded image is converted to standard dynamic
range (monitoring gamma) for output.
When changing the setting of [SDI OUT2 HDR], set main menu
→ [PAINT] → [GAMMA] → [GAMMA MODE SEL] to [HLG].
f <HDMI OUT> terminal, <VIDEO OUT> terminal, viewfinder and LCD monitor: Converts the recorded image as the monitoring gamma for output.
r When recorded information is not in high dynamic range or there is no recorded information
f <SDI OUT1> terminal, <SDI OUT2> terminal, <HDMI OUT> terminal, <VIDEO OUT> terminal, viewfinder, LCD monitor: Outputs a recorded image
directly.
The settings in the main menu
→ [I/F SETUP] → [OUTPUT SEL] → [SDI OUT2 HDR] is disabled.

t Outputs in BT.2020 when recorded information is BT.2020.
t Recording information displays only clips recorded in the high dynamic range (hybrid log gamma) in [CAPTURE GAMMA] and [CAPTURE GAMUT] of
the main menu
→ [CLIP] → [PROPERTY] → [VIDEO].
t The characters and the level of the marker output from the <HDMI OUT> terminal become slightly bigger and the color of the menu changes slightly
when recorded information is in high dynamic range.
t The <USER> button to which [VF/LCD HLG] is assigned becomes invalid.
