Launch at lower EDFA power with lower PON loss
accordingly. The 1550 nm video signal range
must be > -5.0 dBm and < 2.0 dBm to achieve a
48 dBc typical CNR.
Customer PON Loss is less than 18 dB

Reduce EDFA output by one dB for every dB the
PON loss is less than 18 dB. This ensures that the
maximum 1550 nm signal does not 2
dBm.
Customer PON Reach exceeds 12.5 miles (20
km)
•
Additional FiberDrives may be placed in the field
to extend the reach past 12.5 miles.
