You can also use the
Optimize
button to enhance the decode capability further. Optimization will set
the type of code, as well as the number of rows and columns within the code. Decode time can be
significantly reduced using this feature, but only codes with the same number of rows and columns can
be read.
Typical Autocalibration performance improvements are shown below. In this example,
pre-Autocalibration
decode time is
110.2 msec

post-Autocalibration
is
14.3 msec

post-Optimization

.
The following settings can be configured in the
Calibration Options
section of the
I/O Menu
, located in
Advanced Settings > I/O
.
• Window of Interest Framing
can be set to reduce the area of the image that is analyzed during
Autocalibration, The area is reduced to the code size plus twice the Window Margin and Linescan
height (width and height). Autocalibration will be approximately 30 seconds faster when the
function is enabled, and will generally produce a better result. The reduced window size is
maintained and used thereafter for both Setup and Runtime processing of the code, but can be
resized with the ROI / WOI button.
• Window of Interest Margin / Linescan Height
– These values dictate the size of the
Window of
Interest WOI
used during the calibration operation as well as post-calibration during runtime. The
Margin
is the amount added to left and right of the code.
Linescan Height
is the amount added to
the top and bottom of the code. By reducing the pixel area, Autocalibration operates much faster,
as does runtime.
