Error Messages
Error Possible cause Remedy
Cannot write in RUN mode. An attempt has been made to
change the contents of words
while the PLC is in RUN mode. Change the PLC to another
operating mode. The PLC
operating mode can be changed
from any device monitor screen.
Cannot clear error (When error
cleared from Error Information
Screen) The cause of the error has not
been cleared at the PLC. Remove the cause of the error at
the PLC. Refer to the manual for
the connected PLC for details.
(Serial port receive error dis-
played) Connection cable has been
disconnected or has come out of
the connection socket. Check the connection between
the PT and the PLC. Refer to
Section 7 Maintenance and
Troubleshooting
in the NS Series
Setup Manual .
Set address is out of range.
Please set other address. The Switch Box File for NS con-
tained incorrect address settings
is selected (e.g., set address
range is not correct). Select the host with correct ad-
dress settings. Set addresses on
the Switch Box Utility again.
Failed to read the Switch Box File
for NS file. The Switch Box File for NS not
found when returning to the
Switch Box Screen.
Settings in the Switch Box File for
NS are not correct. Transfer Switch Box File for NS
again. If error persists, make the
address settings on the Switch
Box Utility again.
Cannot use the Switch Box
Function because no Host is
registered. An attempt was made to switch
from the user screen to Switch
Box Screen by operating
command button when no host
was set in Register Host. Make the communications
settings on CX-Designer and
transfer the screen data
contained to the registered host
again.
Cannot connect to this PLC
model. The HOST type for PLC that is
not supported by Switch Box
function that was selected in the
host Selection Dialog Box. Select a host that can be used on
the Switch Box Screen and
change the connected PLC type.
Writing to this memory is not
possible. Either Change Val or Bit Status
Button was pressed when
monitoring device that cannot be
written. None
(Change the communications
address to write.)
