rmal Sensor
In order to set the correct alarm threshold, install the infrared thermal sensor according to the proce-
dure described below.
1
Identify the measurement target range
Decide the range of the object for which the temperature is to be monitored (for example, if the
wiring temperature is to be monitored, the wiring width will be applicable).
2
Decide the distance between the infrared thermal sensor and the measurement object
Install the infrared thermal sensor at a distance where the field of view per pixel is smaller than
the range of the measurement object.
Specifically, install the infrared thermal sensor at a distance where the following relationship is
satisfied.
Distance
≤
(32 × Range of measurement object) ÷ 4 (mm)
3
Decide the installation location
Install the infrared thermal sensor at the distance calculated in Step 2.
4
Install the infrared thermal sensor after adjusting the measurement object to a position where it
can be appropriately measured while checking the thermal image of the software tool.
After installing the infrared thermal sensor, it is necessary to register the position of the sensor in the
Main Unit.
For details on how to register the sensor position with the software tool, refer to
Sensor Position (Setting sensor screen)
on page 3-15. For details on how to register the sensor posi-
tion with the CIP message communications of EtherNet/IP, refer to
Section 5 Monitoring and Setting
with the EtherNet/IP Communications
. For details on how to register the sensor position with Modbus
TCP communications, refer to
