Data Transfer Programs

Section 8-5

Special Operation

Values in parentheses are for counter 2.

In the above timing chart, (A) indicates normal outputs and (B) indicates
forced external outputs provided that the forced external output function is
enabled.

1.

The counter is reset or starts at the rising edge of the corresponding bit.

2.

Normal external outputs will be prohibited if word n bit 07 for the external
output enabled function is set to 0. 

Internal outputs will be turned ON regardless of the setting of this bit.

Internal and external outputs will be prohibited if this bit is set to 0 while
forced external outputs are turned ON.

3.

The count value, internal outputs, and external outputs will be reset when
the counter in operation is reset.

4.

Forced external outputs are enabled while the counter is not operating.

5.

The counter will be in normal operation when the counter is started while
the forced external outputs of the counter are turned ON.

6.

Forced external outputs will be disabled when the counter is in operation.

7.

Forced external outputs will be turned OFF the moment the counter is re-
set but the forced external outputs will be turned ON again.

Data Transfer Programs

The High-speed Counter Unit usually operates according to a maximum of 20
counter preset values set in the DM area. New counter preset values can be,
however, transferred from the PC so that the High-speed Counter Unit can
use the new counter preset value.

Note

After writing a program, make sure that the program works properly.
