Note: It is perfectly valid to lock to a signal of a different resolution (e.g. HD rather than SD), as
long as both signals use the frame rate.
To select the required Genlock source:
In the Connections window.

Pick the required source from the drop-down menu offered by
the Genlock block in the bottom left-hand corner of the
display.
To select between Genlock and Free Run:
For each output (SDI, HDMI, DisplayPort):
1. Click on the down-arrow next to the current Genlock selection.
2. Click the required option.
To adjust the timing on any output:
1. Click on the symbol to the right of the current Genlock
selection.
2. Use the dialogue that is displayed to set the required timing
adjustment in Lines and Pixels.
B.1.7 Interpolation Filter
The way in which how the incoming data is interpolated is set by a ‘filter’ associated with the
Analyser/Converter.
The choice of filter is important for example where the resolution of the active picture is changed
because the way in which the pixel data is interpolated by the
Ultra
’s built-in Resizer affects the
sharpness of the resulting image.
A number of different interpolation algorithms have been defined, one of which is deemed
mathematically correct and has been adopted by SMPTE as its standard.
These algorithms produce a range of results, some sharper, some smoother. The
Ultra therefore
offers a choice of algorithms to apply in addition to the one adopted by SMPTE, selectable from a
drop-down menu.
To set the interpolation algorithm that is applied:
In the Connections window.
1. Click on the Analyser/Converter block to select it.
2. Select the required algorithm from the drop-down menu of Filter settings
offered in the right-hand panel.
Selecting
SMPTE Flat selects the algorithm adopted by SMPTE as its
standard.
