Chapter 4 Inspection
Prepare this instrument and other ancillary equipment before each particular case. Refer to the
instruction manuals for each piece of equipment.
WARNING
• Before inspection, be sure to read Chapter 3, “Installation and Connection” and
prepare the ancillary equipment optimally. Otherwise, cause patient or operator
injury may result as well as malfunctions of the equipment.
• Before use, be sure to inspect this instrument as instructed below. Inspect other
ancillary equipment to be used with this instrument as instructed in their respective
instruction manuals. If any irregularities are suspected after inspection, do not use
the equipment and follow the instructions given in Chapter 7, “Troubleshooting”. If
the trouble still persists after troubleshooting, contact Olympus. Using this
instrument while irregularities are suspected does not result only in malfunction but
there are also the risks of operator and patient injury.
CAUTION
• The illumination lamp lights automatically when this instrument and surgical
microscope are turned ON. Do not look directly at the illumination lens of the
surgical microscope while the illumination light is output from it. Also, do not point
the illumination lens to others. Otherwise, an eye injury may result.
• Always set the power switch of this instrument to “ (ON)” before turning the
surgical microscope ON. If this instrument is turned ON after the surgical
microscope, malfunction may result.
Keep the power switch of this instrument permanently in the ON position except
when necessary.
NOTE
A clicking noise may be produced from inside this instrument when it is turned ON.
This sound indicates that the setup is executed and does not mean malfunction.
