Care, Storage, and Disposal
WARNING
• When cleaning this instrument, always wear appropriate personal protection
equipment such as eye wear, face mask, moisture-resistant clothing, and
chemical-resistant gloves that fit properly and are long enough so that your skin is
not exposed. Blood, mucus, and other potentially infectious material adhering to
this instrument could pose an infection control risk.
• Do not apply spray-type medical agents such as rubbing alcohol directly to this
instrument. Medical agents may enter the equipment through the ventilation grills
and may cause equipment damage.
CAUTION
• After wiping with a piece of lint-free cloth moistened with neutral detergent, dry the
instrument thoroughly before using it again. Using the instrument while it is wet
may cause equipment damage.
• Do not attempt to clean any electrical connection part (such as a connector or
contact) of power, video cables, and light guide terminal using moistened lint-free
cloth. Otherwise, damage or corrosion may cause equipment failure.
• Do not soak in water, autoclave, or gas sterilize this instrument and ancillary
equipment. These methods will damage it.
• Clean and vacuum dust from the ventilation grills using a vacuum cleaner, when
necessary. Otherwise, this instrument and ancillary equipment may break down
and damage may occur due to overheating.
• If bioburden or infectious debris enters an area of the instrument that cannot be
cleaned, such as an opening, do not use the instrument and contact Olympus.
