Chapter 7 Cleaning, Disinfection, and Sterilization Procedures

ULTRASONIC BRONCHOFIBERVIDEOSCOPE BF-UC180F

Using a soft brush or clean lint-free cloth, clean the inside of the mouthpiece

in detergent solution.

Using the channel cleaning brush (BW-15B), the single-use channel

cleaning brush (BW-201B), the single use combination cleaning brush

(BW-411B), or the single use single-ended cleaning brush (BW-400B),

thoroughly brush the openings of the disassembled suction valve, until no

debris can been seen (for reusable suction valve (MAJ-207) only).

Using the channel cleaning brush (BW-15B), the single-use channel

cleaning brush (BW-201B), the single use combination cleaning brush

(BW-411B), or the single use single-ended cleaning brush (BW-400B),

thoroughly brush the interior and openings of the biopsy valve. Clean the

bristle of the cleaning brushes thoroughly while the brushes are immersed

(for reusable biopsy valve (MD-495) only).

Dispose of the single use channel cleaning brush (BW-201B) in an

appropriate manner.

Using the 30 cm

(30 ml) syringe, flush the interior and openings of all

equipment until no air bubbles can be seen.

11.

Rub the bristles of the channel cleaning brushes (BW-15B, BW-7B) or the

single use single-ended cleaning brush (BW-400B) and channel-opening

cleaning brush (MH-507) to remove all air bubbles.

12.

Using the 30 cm

(30 ml) syringe, flush the inside of the suction cleaning

adapter with the detergent solution while the adapter is immersed.

13.

Cover the basin with a tight fitting lid to minimize the diffusion of detergent

vapors. Soak all equipment at the temperature and concentration

recommended by the detergent manufacturer.

14.

Remove all equipment from the detergent solution and inspect it. If debris

remains, ultrasonically clean the equipment at 33 – 48 kHz for 5 minutes.

15.

Immerse all equipment in the clean water.

16.

Gently agitate all equipment to thoroughly rinse.

17.

Rub the bristles of the channel cleaning brushes (BW-15B, BW-7B) or the

single use single-ended cleaning brush (BW-400B) and channel-opening

cleaning brush (MH-507) to remove all air bubbles.

18.

Using the 30 cm

(30 ml) syringe, flush the inside of the suction cleaning

adapter thoroughly with clean water while it is immersed.

19.

Remove the suction cleaning adapter from the clean water and remove all

water from it.

20.

Remove all equipment from the clean water.
