operating at part load; may result in rapid
deterioration of the spark plug.
Muffler
WARNING: Do not operate your snow
thrower if the muffler is damaged,
missing or modified. An improperly
maintained muffler will increase the risk
of fire and hearing loss.
Oil Change
Drain the oil while the engine is still warm to
assure rapid and complete draining.
1. Place a suitable container below the engine
to catch the used oil and then remove the
tank cap (A, Fig. 31) and the drain plug (B).
2. Allow the used oil to drain completely and
then reinstall the drain plug (B) and tighten it
securely.
3. Refill with the recommended oil (see
page 32) and check the oil level (Fig. 17).
4. Install the oil filler cap.
If any oil is spilled, make sure to wipe it.
Wash your hands with soap and water after
handling used oil.
NOTE: Please dispose of used motor oil in a
m a n n e r t h a t i s co m p a t i b l e w i t h t h e
environment. We suggest you take it in a
sealed container to your local service station
for reclamation. Do not throw it in the trash,
pour it on the ground, or down a drain.
Adjusting the control cable
If the cutter no longer engages when the
engine is running, the control cable must be
adjusted.
WARNING:
- Switch off the engine before adjusting the
control cables.
- If the wheel drive or cutter mechanism
cannot be disengaged, switch off the
engine. Do not attempt repair, but contact
a qualifi ed workshop.
1. Loosen the lock nut (1, Fig.29).
2. Turn the adjustment on the control cables in
the direction of the arrow (2) until the
control cable does not sag (i.e. is somewhat
taut) when the lever is pressed. Hold the
cable while tightening so that it does not
twist.
3. Tighten the lock nut.
4. Check the adjustment by starting the engine
and engaging the wheel drive or cutter.
5. If the wheel drive or the cutter still does not
engage and disengage properly, have the
machine repaired by a Servicing Dealer.
Major servicing
It is advisable to have the machine inspected by
a specialist technician at an Authorised Service
Centre at the end of each season, if used
intensively, or every two years in the case of
normal use.
7. ENVIRONMENTAL
PROTECTION
Environmental protection should be a priority
of considerable importance when using the
machine, for the benefit of both social cohesion
and the environment in which we live.
- Try not to cause any disturbance to the
surrounding area.
- Scrupulously comply with local regulations
and provisions for the disposal of oils, petrol,
batteries, filters, deteriorated parts or any
elements which have a strong impact on the
environment. This waste must not be
disposed of as normal waste, it must be
separated and taken to specified waste
disposal centres where the material will be
recycled.
Demolition and disposal
When the machine reaches the end of its
service life, do not dispose of it into the
environment; instead take it to a waste disposal
centre.
Most materials used in the manufacture of the
machine are recyclable; all metals (steel,
aluminium, brass) can be delivered to a normal
recycling station. For information contact your
local waste recycling service. Waste disposal
must be carried out with respect for the
environment, avoiding soil, air and water
pollution.
In all cases, applicable local legislation must
be complied with.
