INSPECTING AND CLEANING CYLINDER COMPONENTS

6. Using a die grinder with a soft polishing stone (t8), preferably NPK polishing wheel

p/n 25026030, polish the leading edges of the piston ring grooves

to remove

damage to the piston and allow free movement of the piston rings.

7. Using a straight edge (t15), check the cylinder rod (c3) for straightness.

NOTE:

The cylinder rod is a forged, high strength part. It is not possible to repair the

rod. If the rod is bent or damaged, it must be replaced.

8. Clean all parts with a degreaser solvent using a Scotchbrite® or equivalent cleaning

pad.

Compressed air can cause injury or death! Limit air pressure to a maximum of 30 psi

9. Remove all thread sealant from threads using an appropriate thread sealant solvent.
