Installing and Operating the Passport 5430 Multiservice Access Switch

Connecting to the AC Power Source

To connect a power cable to the Passport 5430:

1.

Connect the power cable to the power connector on the power supply 

(Figure 4-11)

.

2.

If you have a redundant power supply, connect the power cable to the 
power connector on the second power supply.

3.

Connect the remote end of each of the power cables to a grounded outlet. 

4.

Turn on the Passport 5430. 

For instructions, see “Turning the Passport 5430 On and Off” on page 6-9.

Danger: 

Make sure that the power switch on each Passport 5430 power 

supply is in the off (0) position before you connect the power cables.
