Installing Passport 5430 Customer-Replaceable Units for the First Time

Installing a PMC Module on the System Processor Card 

To install a PMC module on the system processor card:

1.

Put on an antistatic wrist strap.

For instructions, see “Attaching the Antistatic Wrist Strap” on page 3-2.

2.

Place the system processor card on a flat surface.

3.

Make sure that you are installing the appropriate PMC module on the 
system processor card. 

For instructions, refer to 

Table 2-1

 on 

page 2-3

.

4.

Hold the PMC module with the connectors facing down.

5.

Place the PMC module on the system processor card by sliding the PMC 
module interface panel into the PMC module opening on the system 
processor card 

(Figure 2-8)

Caution: 

Electrostatic discharge can damage hardware. You must wear the 

antistatic wrist strap on your arm whenever you handle printed circuit boards.
