Installing a PMC Module Filler Panel

If you plan to remove a PMC module from the Passport 5430 without immediately 
replacing it, you must install a PMC module filler panel in the slot.

To install a PMC module filler panel:

1.

Locate the slot where you want to install the PMC module filler panel.

2.

Insert the filler panel in the PMC module slot 

(Figure 3-4)

Removing and Installing a WAN Adapter Module Filler Panel

Nortel Networks ships the Passport 5430 with a filler panel in each empty WAN 
adapter module card slot. 

Before you can install a new WAN adapter module, you must remove the 
appropriate WAN adapter module filler panel. For instructions, see the next 
section, “

Removing a WAN Adapter Module Filler Panel 

To remove the filler panel from an empty WAN adapter module slot:

1.

Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the screw that secures the filler 
panel
