Adding or Replacing a WAN Adapter Module

Replacing a WAN Adapter Module

To replace a WAN adapter module:

Turn off the Passport 5430.

See “Turning the Passport 5430 On and Off” on page 6-9.

If a redundant power supply is installed, turn it off.

Put on an antistatic wrist strap.

For instructions, see “Attaching the Antistatic Wrist Strap” on page 3-2.

Disconnect any cables attached to the port of the adapter module.

Warning:

Do not install Passport 5430 WAN adapter modules with the power

on.

Caution:

Electrostatic discharge can damage hardware. You must wear an

antistatic wrist strap on your arm whenever you handle printed circuit boards.
