Connect the appropriate WAN cables to the new interface. 

For cabling information, see the module-specific Supplement.

Turn the power on and check the diagnostic LEDs on the front panel of 
the Passport 5430. 

See “Turning the Passport 5430 On and Off” on page 6-9.

If the WAN adapter module fails its diagnostic test, the WAN LED flashes 
rapidly. 

Note: 

See the module-specific Supplement for information about the LEDs on 

the newly installed module. The new module’s LEDs will not indicate data 
transfer until you configure and enable software services.
