Changing a Client Card into a Server

There are certain circumstances when you may wish to change a card which had
been a client into the server card, for example, should the server card become faulty.
This is simply done by removing the dongle from the server card and replacing the
client’s dongle with the dongle removed from the server card. On reboot the client
card will become the server card.

There is no need to do a Restore to the server card, as the client already has all the
greetings and agent information that the old server had. In fact, it is likely to be even
more up-to-date than the backup database, as all changes are propagated to the
client cards in real-time.

Mixed(VPS (NTVQ09AB) and Media Card
(NTVQ09BA))multicard setup

In a mixed (VPS (NTVQ09AB) and Media Card
(NTVQ09BA)) multicard setup, if replacing a server card
(which has to be a Media Card (NTVQ09BA)), the
replacement card must also be a Media Card
(NTVQ09BA).
