ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
MAIN CONTROL ERROR CODES
Error Code
Fault Description
Troubleshooting Action
Err01
Non fatal control fault
1. Turn key switch off and back on. 2. If error fault returns, go into
the Fault Recall Mode* (Main Control Board Special Program
Options) to further investigate other possible causes. Make
repairs to all electrical system faults found in the fault recall check.
Replace control board only as the last step when troubleshooting.
Err02
Fatal control fault
Same as Err01. Check Fault Recall Mode*. Replace control
board. Follow troubleshooting actions listed for Err01.
Err03
Wheel drive motor overload
1. Check for a tripped drive motor circuit breaker (40 amp).
Investigate reason for possible mechanical over load. Examples:
sticking brakes, parking brake slide lever not released, prolonged
ramp climbing. 2. See Curtis drive motor controller section to
further troubleshoot the drive system (Table 1).
Err04
Lift motor actuator overload
1. Turn key switch off. 2. Wait for display to go off. 3. Check for
binding of burnishing deck linkage or excessive weight on bur-
nishing deck. 4. Turn key on to reset.
Err05
Lift motor actuator severe overload
1. Turn key switch off. 2. Wait for display to go off. 3. Check for
binding or frozen burnishing deck linkage or excessive weight on
deck. 4. Check for short circuit in wiring or actuator motor. 5.
Repair or replace. 6. Turn key on to reset.
Err06
Lift motor actuator open circuit (**)
1. Turn key switch off. 2. Wait for display to go off. 3. Check for
disconnected actuator, open in wiring or defective actuator motor.
4. Repair or replace. 5. Turn key on to reset.
* See the
Main Control Board Special Program Options
section to activate the Fault Recall function.

MAIN CONTROL BOARD
The primary function of the main control is to position the burnishing head to maintain a specific current draw by the pad motor. When
the down/on switch is depressed the actuator will run for approximately two seconds, this will lower the burnishing deck to the operating
position. When the foot pedal is activated the pad motor will start and the main control will begin monitoring the current through the pad
motor. If the current is too low the main control will lower the actuator motor, if the current is too high the main control will raise the actuator.
Once the correct current level has been achieved, the actuator will turn off. As the machine is being used the main control will monitor
the current level of the pad motor, if it is out of the desired range, the actuator will move to correct the current level. This process is repeated
until the pad motor is shut off. (To change the pad pressure range, see the
Pad Pressure Adjustment
section of this manual.)
The main control board also has fault detection capabilities, which allow for detection and indication of various systems’ malfunctions.
(See the
Troubleshooting Guide
section of this manual for further information.)

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE (BEFORE SN 1507059)
Error codes for the main control will be displayed on the hour meter display as they occur. If more than one error exists the display will
sequence through the error codes at one-second intervals. The error display will show on the hour meter as the letters Err followed by
a two-digit code. EX: Err01 would be a non-fatal control fault. Refer to the chart below to determine the fault and the corrective action.
When troubleshooting any “Fault Description” noted with a double asterisk (**) follow the instructions for temporarily disabling
the control boards special fault detection program. See the Main Control Board Special Program Options section in this manual.
