7.6.7 Safety bevel

Purpose: Adjusting the positions of the beveling/safety beveling wheel and flat edging/safety
beveling wheel for a lens processed with the

45 internal data

Jig: For adjusting CR39 safety bevel, a lens of -3 to -5 D is recommended.

1. Before adjusting safety bevel, turn on the main

body and press

to display the MENU

screen.

2. Press

to move the arrow to “GOOVE &

SFB adjustment” and press

.

The GOOVE & SFB adjustment screen
appears.

3. Set each value of the “SFB Width ****”

parameters enclosed by the dotted line in the
figure as shown to the right to 0.3 mm.

<Beveling/safety beveling wheel position adjustment>

1) Call up the

φ

45 internal data.

2) Select MTL (metal) and GUI (5:5). Bevel

and safety bevel a CR39, -3 to -5 D lens.

3) Press

to move the arrow (

→

) to “SFB

Wheel Pos. (BVL, F)” and “SFB Wheel
Pos. (BVL, R)”. Press

or

to change

the values so that each safety bevel width
is within 0.3 ±0.12 mm.
• To increase the safety bevel widths on
both front and rear surfaces, increase the
values.
• To decrease the safety bevel widths on
both front and rear surfaces, decrease
the values.
