7.6 Backup Battery
The memory ( refer to “4.7 Memory Functions” ) contents and other required parameters
and data are backed up to a secondary vanadium-lithium (VL) battery provided inside the
BP4610.
The BP4610 is shipped with a completely exhausted backup battery. Full charging of the battery
takes 50 hours while the BP4610 is connected to a power supply.
After that, the backup battery will remain fully charged if the BP4610 is connected to a power
supply for 20 or more hours a week.
When fully charged, the backup battery can back up the internal storage elements for
approximately 60 days, though the backup time may vary depending on individual differences
and the ambient temperature.
When the battery becomes degraded, resulting in a shorter backup time and unsuitability for
actual use, have the backup battery either by NF Corporation or an NF Corporation sales
representative.
Storing the BP4610 for 6 months or loner without powered it on will reduce the useful life of the
backup battery, so it is recommended to power on the BP4610 from time to time.
The backed up contents are checked at power-on, and if the contents have become degraded, an
error message is displayed (
refer to “6.1 Error Messages” ) and the values of the BP4610
are reset to the initial values ( refer to “4.7 Memory Functions” ).
If the backed up contents have been lost due to battery exhaustion, the
icon blinks.
