Configuring IP Routing and IP Address
The NBG440 unit supports one LAN and two SHDSL interfaces.
The Routing mode becomes set as a default mode when set up the IP address (including “IP
unnumbered”) in the interface.

Assigning an IP Address to the LAN interface
To enable the router-connected user's local network (LAN) to communicate with the
outside, the IP address should be set in the LAN interface of the NEXPEED NBG440
router. If the IP address is assigned to the LAN interface without an additional
activation command, the interface can be automatically enabled, making the
communication possible. The pre-allocated IP address and subnet mask should be set in
the LAN interface. If the IP address to be set is not known, please contact the network
manager.
COMMAND
(conf)# interface <ifname> ip <address> <mask>
Parameters
<ifname> - interface name
<address> - IP address
<mask> - subnet mask
Usage Examples:
(conf)# int lan ip 168.126.188.130 255.255.255.0
Assigning an IP Address to the DSL interface (s0,s1/mx0)
The IP address and subnet mask, both of which are supposed to be pre-allocated to the
SHDSL segment in advance, should be set in the DSL interface. You can configure
IP
unnumbered
to the DSL interface. If the IP address to be set is not known, please
contact the network manager.
