Troubleshooting
PROBLEM
WHAT TO DO
The Suspend button does not work
A disk drive might be busy. Wait until the
disk drive is idle and try again.
You connected an external CRT
but it does not work
Press Ctrl-Alt-S to access the SCU.
Under VGA Setup, check that the Display
Mode is set to CRT or Both. Or, use
Fn-F2 to toggle between display mode
settings.
START-UP PROBLEMS
The system displays an invalid configuration error at power
on when the following conditions exist.
■
The current configuration information does not match
the configuration information stored in memory. This
happens when an internal option is added.
■
The system loses configuration information stored
in memory.
If either condition exists, the system displays an “invalid
configuration information” message. You must go into the
SCU. Check your last settings to see if they are still active
or select Defaults to resolve settings problems quickly.
If an error message appears before the operating system
starts, look up the message in the following table. Follow
the instructions.
If you see other error messages, the hardware may need
repair.
NOTE: When the system detects an error related to
display devices, it cannot display information on
either the LCD or CRT. The system warns you by
beeping.
