Using Your Versa S 2-9
BEFORE YOU GO
Consider the following when taking your Versa S on
the road.
■
Make sure you have all the cables and accessories you
need before leaving on your trip. See the checklist at the
end of this chapter for suggestions.
■
If you run your system on battery power, maximize
battery life by using power-saving features whenever
possible.
■
Fully charge your battery pack before you leave.
■
Take the AC adapter along in case you have an electrical
outlet handy. This saves battery power for when you
really need it.
TIP: Speed your trip through airport security by
keeping a fully charged battery pack in your system.
Inspectors want to see the screen display a mes-
sage. The boot message is usually sufficient.
If your system contains a fully charged battery, the
inspection takes only a minute or so. Otherwise, be
prepared to attach the AC adapter and power cable.
If you don’t have these, the inspection might include
disassembling your system.
Checking Power Connections
With the right accessories, you can run your Versa S almost
anywhere. Your system self-adjusts to various power
sources. The United States, Canada, and most of Central
and South America use 100-volt alternating current (AC).
Most other countries use 220-volt AC. The Versa S adapts
to voltages ranging from 100 to 260 volts.
