Adding Options 3-7
Parallel Devices
To install a parallel device, like a parallel printer, you need
a cable with a 25-pin male connector for the system. For
most parallel printers, the other end of the cable should have
a 36-pin Centronics
®
-compatible connector.
Follow these steps to attach a parallel device to the Versa S.
1.
Open the port cover on the back of the Versa S and
locate the parallel port.
2.
Fit the 25-pin cable connector and the parallel port
together and attach them. (They fit only one way.)
3.
Secure the connection with the screws provided.
4.
Align and connect the 36-pin connector to the correct
port on the device. Lock the connector clips.
5.
Connect the power cable to the printer and a properly
grounded wall outlet.
