WHAT IS POWER MANAGEMENT?
Power Management is a set of power-saving features built
into the Versa S. These features conserve energy, maximize
the life of your battery pack and LCD backlight, and protect
against data loss due to low battery power.
Power Management lets you direct your Versa S to go into
Suspend mode automatically after a preset time of system
inactivity. You can also put the system in Suspend mode
manually through the Suspend key (
Fn-Esc
).
Suspend mode slows system devices (like the hard disk and
CPU clock) or stops them and shuts off the LCD panel
backlight.
To get the system running again, press any key on the
keyboard or the Suspend button (
Fn-Esc
). The effect of
power-saving modes on system operation is minimal. Once
you exit a power-saving mode, your system is up and
running in a fraction of a second.
You can use Power Management when running the system
on either battery power or AC power.
Versa S has two programs that work together to provide
power management capabilities.
