Save to File (STF)
After 30 minutes in Suspend mode, the current system
working state is automatically saved to a special file on the
hard disk. The system is powered then down. When the
system is powered on again, it returns to the working state
that was saved.
scanner
An optical device that reads printed material and converts it
to a computer screen image.
serial interface
An interface that communicates information one bit at
a time.
serial printer
A printer with a serial interface.
software
Programs that run on a computer, such as operating sys-
tems, word processors, and spreadsheets.
suspend mode
This is a power savings mode that promotes longer battery
and system life. The system pauses and shuts down opera-
tion in a sleep-like state after a specified amount of system
inactivity. Press the Resume button to return to the point
where you left off.
super video graphics array (SVGA)
A color bit-mapped graphics display standard, that provides
a resolution of 1024x 768 with up to 256 colors displayed
simultaneously.
