How to Clear Card Reader Jams

Always look down into the top of the card reader to ensure that a card is really
jammed. When a card jam does occur, use the following procedure to clear it.
1. Slowly turn the large gear (1) on the side of the card reader to move the card.
- Turing gear clockwise moves the card forward toward the shutter.
- Turning gear counterclockwise moves the card toward the back of the reader.
2. If needed, open the shutter and retrieve the card by pressing and holding the
plunger button (2) as shown. Then turn the wheel clockwise to force the card from
the reader.
