Troubleshooting Tools and Procedure

The followings are procedures for handling problems related to the card reader, which
includes receiving complaints, dispatching a technician to the branch, verifying the
problem, inspecting the machine, and taking proper actions.

Trouble Verification
1. Receiving Reports on Problems from the branch personnel
Record when the problem has occurred and what the problem is. For intermittent
errors, verify the frequency of the error. It is important to get detailed transaction flow
at the time when the problem occurred. This will be very useful in resolving the
problem.
2. Power LED on Controller Board
Check whether the LED on the controller board is on red in color.
3. Error Code on Supervisor Screen
On the service panel, enter the supervisor screen. Verify if an error code is
displayed. Compare the error code with the error code list described in Appendix.
Take proper action in the branch.
4. Software Journal & Trace Files
Connect a keyboard to the CE engine, and select a certain folder on the rear operator
panel. Copy the files to a USB drive. Send the data to Nautilus Hyosung for more
detailed analysis. However, in order to study the fault using the software file, the
time of the fault occurrence is critical. Analysis by Nautilus Hyosung on the fault may
take time.
Field Repair Scope (Recommendation)

The user can check the communication cable, power cable, sensors, controller board,
and magnetic head cleaning state in the field. For other components, the user shall
inspect the modules at the depot level.
This is only a recommendation of Nautilus Hyosung and can be changed depending on
the field situation or capacity of the technician.
