Section 5 System Level Troubleshooting
Issue 3.5
(f) Other
Current Active Fault
indications may prompt the
troubleshooter to replace other PWBs
or RF power modules (e.g., PA Fail
indicates a fault has occurred in one
of the RF power modules, see 5.8).
NOTE
Viewing the GUI’s Events Log (see 3.6.6)
can also assist in diagnosing a fault.
NOTE
Replacement procedures (see 5.6 - 5.16)
are provided for modules and PWBs that
require specific removal/installation or
adjustment instructions. For assemblies
whose replacement procedures are
straightforward and require no re-
calibration, instructions are not included.
(g) If replacement of a suspect PWB or
module does not remove the fault
condition, contact Nautel.
The troubleshooting of front panel alarms
assumes that the transmitter was
operating successfully before the alarm
condition occurred. The information in
Table 5-2 is keyed to illuminated (red)
front panel ‘System Diagram’ alarm
lamps. Locate the offending alarm lamp(s)
in Table 5-2 and then refer to the
appropriate troubleshooting paragraph.

Refer to the
Status
and
Events Log
screens as the first step in troubleshooting
an alarm condition. At the end of each
paragraph a list of possible associated
faults are listed. These items under
certain faults should be found in the
Status
screen and/or
Events Log
and
should assist in troubleshooting.
NOTE
Alarms not shown in Table 5-2 are
considered straight-forward and require
no further troubleshooting information.
