Issue 3.5
Section 4 Testing and Adjustment
4.4 NON-STANDARD
ADJUSTMENTS
The following non-standard adjustments
are described in this section. They have
been factory set prior to shipping and do
not require verification or re-calibration
unless an unintentional adjustment has
been made or a fault has occurred.
4.4.1 Changing
Frequency
4.4.2
Changing Ac Input Configuration
4.4.1 Changing Frequency
To perform a frequency change, refer to
the
Change Power, Frequency or Mode
paragraph (3.6.4) in Section 3.
4.4.2 Changing Ac Input
Configuration
To prepare the transmitter for a change in
ac input configuration (e.g., 1-phase to 3-
phase), perform the following steps:
(a) Press
RF Off
. Disconnect the
transmitter from its ac power source.
(b) Remove the lower rear filter panel
(retain hardware). Remove the cover
from the ac distribution assembly (A1)
to access the ac connection terminals
(retain hardware). Leave the filter
panel off until the configuration
change is complete.
(c) Use the 3/16 inch hex wrench from
the ancillary kit to disconnect the
existing ac wires from terminals E1
through E4 (as applicable) of the ac
distribution assembly. Ensure the ac
terminals do not turn during wire
installation. Retain any ferrite toroids
used with the ac wiring.
(d) Reconfigure the ac distribution
assembly by changing the necessary
connector straps and terminal lugs
(E1 - E4) for the new ac input (see
Figure 2-3 of this manual or Figure
MD-4 of the Repair Manual).
•
Any additional straps, terminal lugs
and associated hardware have been
packed with the ancillary kit.
•
Secure all connector straps to their
appropriate pillars. Torque hardware
to 96 in-lbs (10.8 N-m).
•
Secure all terminal lugs (E1 - E4, as
applicable) to the connector straps as
shown in Figure 2-3. For a 3-phase,
208 V ac input configuration, install a
2 AWG jumper (provided) between E1
and the strap connected to fuse F6.
Torque hardware to 120 in-lbs
(13.4 N-m).
(e) Install the new ac power source’s
wiring as detailed in paragraph 2.3.6.
(f) Re-install the cover on the ac
distribution assembly (A1) and re-
install the lower rear filter panel using
hardware retained in step (b).
