MTPSR1-202ST

Installing TCP/IP (Win98/95)

If TCP/IP is not already installed, perform the following steps:

Note: For this procedure you may need your Windows installation disks or CD ROM.

1.

In the Network dialog box, click Add. The Select Network Component Type dialog is displayed
with a list of installation options.

2.

Select Protocol and click Add. The Select Network Protocol dialog box is displayed with
protocol options.

3.

In the Manufacturers list click the manufacturer option (Microsoft in the example) to highlight it. A
list of available protocols will appear in the Network Protocols list.

4.

In the Network Protocols list, select TCP/IP and click OK.

5.

Exit the add option. Click the OK button.

Note: If Windows does not find the necessary files on the hard drive, click Have Disk and follow
the on-screen instructions for loading TCP/IP from the installation disks/CD-ROM.

6.

Reboot your PC for changes to take effect.

7.

Click Start | Settings | Control Panel and double-click the Network icon to return to the
Network dialog. Return to step 3 of the Configuring in Windows 98/95 and continue with the
client setup procedure.
