Product installation and wiring
This chapter describes wiring possibilities and associated Safety categories.
Power supply
The HarshIO safety module shall be powered with 2 separate power supplies:
-
1x 24 VDC for module logic and safety inputs power
-
1x 24 VDC for safety Outputs auxiliary power
Warning!
To comply with CE directive, the module shall be powered from a safety extra-low
voltage (SELV) or a protected extra-low voltage source.
Note!
The 2 grounds are separated (means isolated from each other).
Warning!
The maximum total current shall not exceed 8 A for Logic/Input power (UB).
The maximum total current shall not exceed 8 A for Output power supplies
power (UL).
The current is monitored to be able to go in fail safe state if a current exceeds
the maximum.
Warning!
Personnel in charge of safety application must verify that the maximum current
consumption is lower than the maximum limit on all the range of temperature supported.
Warning!
An overcurrent protection should be added before the HarshIO module to avoid
destruction of the module in case of overcurrent situation.
