Range limits

If you have not yet incorporated the function blocks into the 
S40 programming software, start by reading the Section 
“Installation” on Page 27 and then continue from this 
section.

The following shows which parameters can be adapted in 
the variable declaration.

Please note the following rules when setting the range 
limits. The rules do not always apply to basic function blocks, 
however, since not all the variables are available.

Variable

requested_station:

The lower limit for the variable must always be set to “1”. The 
upper limit specifies the maximum number of planned secondary 
stations.

subaddress, 
source_offset, 
destination_offset:

The lower limit must always be set to “0”.

subaddress:

The upper limit must not exceed “255”.

source_offset, 
destination_offset:

The upper limit must always be the same for each variable and 
must not exceed “219”.

variable_length, 
fixed_length:

The lower limit must always be set to “1”.
The upper limit is always 1 higher than the upper limit of the 
“source_offset“ and “destination_offset” variables and must not 
exceed “220”.

acd_subaddress, 
acd_offset, 
acd_length:

Transfer of the limits for the “subaddress” and “source_offset” 
or “destination_offset” variables.
