1 General

Field of application

The S40-AM-TL application module, version 2.0 consists of a 
range of different function blocks that provide the interface 
in the PLC between the telecontrol cards/modules and the 
user program.

Only ZB4-501-TC1 telecontrol modules version 03 or higher 
can be used with this software. This module can only be 
connected to PLCs of the PS4 series and its module address 
is set permanently to 2. 

The S40-AM-TL application module, version 2.0, also 
provides all the function blocks of module V1.2

The function blocks described in this manual are used with 
telecontrol cards/modules that communicate with one 
another via a leased line.

In leased line systems, there is always one primary station 
(the station that initiates data transport) and one or more 
secondary stations (the station that responds to a data 
request). Direct communication between two secondary 
stations is not possible.

Primary and secondary stations perform different functions 
and thus require different function blocks.

Figure 1 shows the structure of a telecontrol system using 
Moeller components that communicate with one another via 
leased lines.
