5.2 Automatic Receiving (AUTO)
Incoming calls are automatically answered as fax messages. The software
switches No. 07, 09 and 16 offer a variety of selections. (To set the
switches cf. chapter "Entering Data", section "Programming User Software
Switches“.)
Software switch No. 07
Number of rings before the machine answers the call.
Software switch No. 09
Number of simulated rings (e.g. for the manual fax transfer). Enter any
number available between 3 and 11. If 00 is set no rings are simulated and
the fax signal is given immediately after the call is answered. In this case
the fax / telephone recognition is off.
Software switch No. 16
This switch controls the voice response when the fax / telephone
recognition is on
5.3 Combination with an Answering Machine
(ANSWER)
The Minoltafax 1300 can be combined with an answering machine. When
set to answer mode, the machine operates as follows.
If no message is left within 6 seconds after the answering machine turns
on, the Minoltafax emits the fax signal and receives the data. If the voice
response is on (software switch 16) the machine will ask the caller to pess
the start key to send a fax before emitting the CNG-signal. The Minoltafax
will receive the data in any case, if the calling fax machine emits a fax
signal.
This feature may not function properly with certain answering machines
because the quality of the telephone line and the capacity of the answering
machine are important. Some of the advanced functions of the answering
machine may not work, because the Minoltafax monitors the line.
