9.7.1 Paper 

Loading 

Problems

Symptom

Possible Cause/Solution

Paper does not load into the
sheet feeder.

− 

Make sure the paper selection lever
(on the right side of the sheet feeder)
is set to the back position.

Multiple sheets load into the
printer.

− 

Check if the left paper guid is
adjusted correctly.

− 

Make sure the paper is not sticking
together. Be sure to fan the stack of
paper before placing it in the sheet
feeder.

− 

Make sure that the paper selection
lever is set to the back position for
loading paper.

− 

Make sure you have not stacked too
many sheets of paper in the sheet
feeder. Try removing a few sheets of
paper from the sheet feeder.

− 

If the sheet feeder contains different
types of paper, try loading just one
type of paper.

Paper is loaded skewed
(slanted), or printing is skewed
(slanted).

− 

Make sure the stack of paper is
straight in the sheet feeder. Also
make sure the right side of the stack
of paper is aligned against the right
side of the sheet feeder and the left
side is aligned against the paper
guide.
