XY OXYGEN CONCENTRATOR

519211-22

EN

OPERATION

Commissioning must be performed by competent and authorized staff designed by the concentrator owner and having
full knowledge and good practice of oxygen use.

For the version with an electric booster, ensure proper rotation direction of the compressor fan.

11.1

Commissioning: 5-bar and 12-bar version

Switch oxygen concentrator on by turning ON/OFF button to OFF to allow O

2

 analyser to heat up.

Get the air compression unit to operate on its own for the first time by releasing air from the storage receiver to dry out the air
distribution network. Then, after checking the compressed air hygrometry, open air inlet valve for each concentrator.

At commissioning, O

2

concentration in the homogenizer, storage receiver (BP Booster option) and establishment network is less than

90%. It is thus necessary to carry out a purge of the O

2

system to guarantee an oxygen concentration greater than 90% in the network.

11.2

Commissioning for the first time: 5-bar and 12-bar version

If  "O

2

analyser  effect"  is  on  STOP  in  the  PROCOM  2  with  O

2

concentration  less  than  90%,  isolating  valve

[V.is]

  is  closed  and

consumption valve

[V.cons]

 is opened to generate O

2

 consumption.

Turn concentrator ON: it starts. As with each time it starts, the concentrator will begin by doing two cycles on its own before delivering
O

2

to homogenizer. This is called the pre-production phase.

With O

2

concentration reaching 93% after several cycles, consumption valve

[V.cons]

 closes and isolating valve

[V.is]

 opens: O

2

 is

delivered to the network.

It is then necessary to carry out a purge at each network initiation to guarantee oxygen quality.

The first increase in O

2

 concentration could take several hours.

11.3

Operating under control of single-line concentrator without booster (5-bar version)

When homogenizer/receiver pressure reaches 5 bar, the concentrator starts.
As  with  each  time  it  starts,  the  concentrator  will  operate  during  two  cycles  on  itself  before  delivering  oxygen  in  its
homogenizer/receiver. This is called the pre-production phase.

When homogenizer/receiver pressure reaches 5.5 bar, the concentrator stops after two cycles (flexo mode). If during the two cycles,
the

[CpO

2

]

sensor pressure reaches 5 bar, the concentrator keeps running and there is no pre-production phase.

If "O

2

analyser effect" is on STOP in the PROCOM 2 and if the O

2

concentration decreases under 90%, the isolating valve is closed, the

consumption valve is open, consequently the O

2

 concentration reaches up to 93%.

11.4

Operating under control of multiple-line concentrator without booster (5-bar version)

The isolating valve

[V.is]

of the priority concentrator is open and the

[CpO

2

]

sensor pressure fitted on the receiver/homogenizer will

control the general pressure level of the oxygen consumption. This sensor will communicate the running order of the top-up and the
back-up concentrators.
As long as they are not called to help the priority concentrator, the isolating valves of the top-up and the back-up concentrators are
closed.

When the

[CpO

2

]

sensor pressure reaches 5 bar, the concentrator starts. If the pressure drops to 4.7 bar, the top-up concentrator

starts and its isolating valve is open. If the pressure still drops to 4.4 bar, the back-up concentrator starts and its isolating valve is
open.

When the pressure in the homogenizer reaches 5.5 bar, the order is given to the various concentrators to stop.
The  isolating  valves  of  the  top-up  and  back-up  concentrators  are  closed  again  and  the  concentrators  operate  during  2  cycles  of
production (flexo mode).
When a concentrator starts, it will operate during 2 cycles on itself before the delivery of oxygen in its homogenizer /receiver.

Per concentrator, if "O

2

analyser effect" is on STOP in the PROCOM 2 and if the O

2

concentration decreases under 90%, the isolating

valve is closed, the consumption valve is open, consequently the O

2

concentration reaches up to 93%. In this case, the concentrator

is not available for production.
