Electrical System Overload Protection
If an electrical overload occurs, a fuse or circuit breaker opens.
Locate and correct the problem before replacing the fuse or
resetting the circuit breaker.
A circuit breaker protects the engine wiring harness and
instrumentation power lead. Reset by pushing the reset button.
In an emergency, if you cannot locate and correct the cause of
the high current draw, and you must operate the engine, perform
the following:
1. Turn off or disconnect all accessories connected to the
engine and instrumentation wiring and reset the circuit
breaker.
2. If the breaker remains open, an electrical overload is still
present. Inspect the electrical system.
3. Some key switches have a 20 amp fuse located in‑line with
the ignition switch harness to protect the electrical system.
Check for an open fuse if the key is turned to "START" and
nothing happens (and the circuit breaker is not open).
