Surround and Decorative Fronts Information

Definition 

A “Surround” is defined as the part that is designed to cover the outer edges gap between the 

Insert body and the existing 

Woodburning fireplace opening’s outer edges.

Four types of Surrounds are offered for this Mendota Insert:

Basix Surrounds- Stock Items 

Basix Surrounds are offered as stocked items in various sizes, 
shapes (rectangle and arched) and with three outer edge finish 
options. The deeper outer edge finishes allow installation of this 
Insert in cavities with shallower depths. Consult with your Mendota 
Dealer for specific details and availability. Use a Basix if installing 
one of these decorative options:
