Putting into operation
Caution:
The first time the appliance is operated, it must not be left unattended until it has reached
the steady state.
4.1 Connecting the appliance
Caution:
Observe the country-specific regulations when
making connections (e.g. in Germany DIN VDE 0100
with earth leakage circuit breaker). Observe the
connection and power ratings (see nameplate and
"Technical Data" on page 13). Make sure to establish
a safe PE conductor connection.
Plug the provided power cable into the rear of the
appliance and connect it to the power supply ( Fig. 14 ).
Place the power cable so that
►
it is easily accessible at all times and can be pulled
off quickly, for example in case of interference or an
emergency;
►
it does not represent a trip hazard;
►
it cannot come into contact with any hot parts.
4.2
Filling and connecting the water tank
Water specifications
For steam creation, use only: demineralised/
desalinated water (Aqua Dem) with a conduc-
tivity
≤
10
μ
S/cm. Otherwise, possible calcifica-
tion in the steam generators, steam piping and
steam generator pumps could affect the correct
functioning of the appliance. Only use chlorine-
free water with a pH value of > 5 and < 7.
Connection
Fill the supplied water tank with water and use
the enclosed tube to connect it to the “H
2
O”
connection on the rear of the appliance (Fig.
15).
