Using "Updates by network"
Major updates are performed using the
microSD card, and so the microSD card must
be inserted to carry out a major update.
You cannot carry out a major update:
•
During international roaming
•
While in Airplane mode
•
While mounting during USB connection
•
While updating software
•
During USB tethering
•
During Wi-Fi tethering
•
If there is insufficient battery level for a
major update
•
When there is not enough free space in the
microSD card for a major update
Packet communication charges are incurred
for a major update using a 3G network. Since
packet communication charges can become
costly, a flat-rate packet rate is strongly
recommended.
Connection to a Wi-Fi network may be
necessary depending on the version of the
software to be updated.
Before updating software via a Wi-Fi network,
check that the terminal is connected to a
Wi-Fi network.

■
"Updates by SD card"
To carry out a major update, connect the
terminal to a PC (P. 130), and download the
update software from the manufacturer's site
(MEDIAS NAVI) to a microSD card by the PC.
For more information, refer to the
manufacturer's site (MEDIAS NAVI).
You cannot carry out a major update:
•
While mounting during USB connection
•
If there is insufficient battery level for a
major update
•
After the major update is completed,
manually delete the update software that
was saved to the microSD card (the software
can be safely removed once the major
update has completed normally).
■
Using "Auto download"
•
Wi-Fi network is required for the auto
download. Confirm that Wi-Fi is connected
in advance.
