If it is not necessary to change the weight measure-
ment units, just touch the «SET» button (2).
Note
: If during the data entering no actions are
taken, the scale will be switched off automatically in
approximately 20 seconds.
CALCULATION OF FAT, BONE AND MUSCLE
TIISUE AND WATER PERCENTAGE IN A HUMAN
BODY
•
Touch the «SET» button (2), the symbols «0.0 kg»,
«0.0 lb» or «0:0 st» will appear on the display (3),
depending on the selected measurement units.
•
Select your user number by touching the buttons
(4)

.
•
Confirm the user selection touching the «SET» but-
ton (2).
•
Touching the «SET» button (2) repeatedly, check
the user’s previously saved personal data (sex,
physical training, age, height).
•
Then you’ll see a weight measurement unit sym-
bol flashing on the display (3), confirm the choice
of the weight measurement unit by touching the
«SET» button (2).
•
Step with your bare feet on the scale so that your
feet touch the metal contacts on the platform (1).
Stay still during the weight measurement and wait
till the weight indications appear.
•
Keep standing on the scale. Symbols «- - - -» on
the display (3) indicate that the percentage of fat,
water, bone and muscles tissue is being calculated.
•
After calculation the following data will be shown on
the display (3):
–
the user’s weight in selected measurement units
(kg/lb/st);
- fat percentage,
- water percentage,
- muscle tissue percentage,
- bone tissue percentage,
KCAL
– recommended level of daily calorie intake,
«
--
» - low weight,
«
---
-» - normal weight,
«
------
» - excessive weight,
«
--------
» - obesity.
•
Calculation results will be shown on the display (3)
three times and then the scale will be switched off
automatically.
Attention!
•
If the symbol «Err» appears on the display (3),
it means that the scale is overloaded. Step off
the scale immediately to avoid its damage.
•
The symbol «Err-2» shows that an error
occurred during calculation. Step off the scale
and repeat weighing.
Note:
The data concerning the percentage of fat and
water may be obtained only if you have entered the user
data and stand on the scale barefoot.
Change of fat percentage in a human body during
the day
The indications of fat percentage in a human body are
affected by such factors as lifestyle, physical exercises,
health condition and amount of liquid in the body.
You should take into account the following factors:
•
the fat percentage indications may be less if mea-
sured after taking a bath or a shower,
•
the fat percentage indications may be higher if
measured after having a meal or drinking,
•
percentage of liquid in a human body may decrease
during and after illness and after physical exercises
and thus change the fat percentage indications.
Water percentage in a human body
Water percentage in a human body is the percentage
of liquid in the human body to total weight. Water has
primary importance for human tissues and organs,
since 50-65% of our body consist of water. With this
scale you can control the percentage of water in your
body and correct this important characteristic.
What is muscle bulk?
Muscle bulk value shows the weight of locomotor
system muscles, plain muscles (heart and digestive
system) and water in these muscles.
Control of muscle bulk is especially important for
people with excessive weight and obesity. Weight loss
may lead to decrease of fat tissues, but only if you gain
muscle bulk at the same time.
What is bone mass?
Bone tissues are the base of human skeleton; they
are solid and resistant to external actions, protecting
internal organs, and together with the muscle tissue
providing the ability of a human to move.
Bone mass measurement is based on calculating
the minerals mass in a human body (calcium or other
matters). The research showed that development of
muscle tissues makes the skeleton stronger. This fact
should be taken into account when making up a diet and
calculating physical activity for strong and healthy bones.
Bone mass practically doesn’t change; however, some
decrease is possible under many factors (weight,
height, age, sex). That’s why this manual does not
contain standard values and recommendations
concerning the bone tissue percentage.
Recommended level of daily calorie intake
The level of daily calorie intake is the amount of energy
required by the human body at absolute rest for
maintaining its vital functions (for instance, if you stay
in bed for 24 hours). The required amount of calories
significantly depends on the weight, height and age
of a person. This amount of calories is required by the
human body and it should be regained by means of
food. If you receive less calories for a long time, it may
harm your health.
Normal percentage of water in the body is 45-60%
for women and 50-65% for men.
