For the 8600 audio interface, four channels of audio input and eight
channels of audio output are supported with common input and output
clocks:

•

AI_D[1:0] – Incoming serial stream audio data

•

AI_SCLK – Serial clock for stream audio input

•

AO_SCLK – Serial clock for audio output

•

AO_D[3:0] – Outgoing serial stream audio data

The 8600 uses incoming and outgoing frame sync signals and internally
generated master clock signals:

•

AI_FSYNC – Incoming stream frame sync

•

A0_FSYNC – Audio output frame sync

•

AI_MCLKO – Internal audio input master clock

•

AO_MCLKO – Internal audio output master clock

The 8600 also has an IEC958 data output signal.
