WARNING
Ensure over flow vent area is clear. Failure to comply may cause injury to
personnel and/or damage to equipment.
g.
Pump water from the service truck until water begins to flow out of the overflow vent (1) on the
lower fuselage of the aircraft, then stop the flow of water from the service truck.
h.
Once the water has stopped flowing from the overflow vent (1), set the fill/drain switch (3) to the
closed position and hold until the VALVE CLOSED light illuminates. Release switch.
i.
Remove the service truck rinse line, allow all residual water to drain, and close the lever lock cap of
the fill/drain nipple (7).
j.
Ensure VALVE CLOSED light is illuminated. Close service panel door.
k.
If electrical power is no longer required, disconnect the electrical power source from the airplane in
accordance with paragraph titled Disconnecting External Electrical Power.

as a result of TO 1C-5M-544, to read as follows:
3.14.9
Water Tank Draining Procedure. (See Figure 3-34.) Drain the water tank as follows:
a.
Ensure electrical power is connected in accordance with paragraph titled Connecting External
Electrical Power.
b.
Ensure COMP RLY circuit breaker on Flight Engineer Circuit Breaker Panel No. 5 is closed.
c.
Open the service panel door on bottom of aircraft at FS 815.
NOTE
If draining lavatory water tank onto ramp is undesirable due to poor runoff,
freezing weather, etc., use a suitable container, approximately 29 gallons
capacity, to catch water.
d.
Open the lever lock cap of the fill/drain nipple (7).
e.
Set the fill/drain switch (3) to the open position and hold until the VALVE OPEN light illuminates
and release switch. Allow water tank to drain.
f.
When water stops draining from the fill/drain nipple (7), set the fill/drain switch (3) to the closed
position and hold until the VALVE CLOSED light illuminates. Release switch.
g.
Close the lever lock cap of the fill/drain nipple (7).
h.
Ensure VALVE CLOSED light is illuminated. Close service panel door.
i.
If electrical power is no longer required, disconnect the electrical power source from the airplane in
accordance with paragraph titled Disconnecting External Electrical Power.

Lavatory Toilet and Waste Tube Cleaning. (See Figure 3-34.1.) Clean the waste tank and waste
lines in accordance with the following instructions. Refer to Table 3-9 for materials and equipment
required for lavatory cleaning.
