CAUTION
The service truck waste suction pump must be off prior to closing ACFT
waste tank drain valve. Failure to comply could result in damage to the
airplane.
m. Stop the waste truck suction pump after all water has been drained from waste line.
n. Push the drain cable handle (6) fully in to close the waste tank drain valve.
o. Remove the rinse hose and allow all water to drain from the rinse nipple (4) and close the lever
lock cap of the rinse nipple (4).
p. Disconnect the drain line from the waste valve (5).
q. Close the waste valve (5) cover.
r. Rinse the service area with a solution of nine parts water to one part MIL-PRF-87937, Type IV
heavy duty cleaner solution, followed by thorough rinsing and drying.
s. Close the service panel door.

the basic manual is amended, as a result of TO 1C-5M-544, to read as follows:
3.14.8 Lavatory Water Tank Servicing. (See Figure 3-34.) Service the lavatory water tank as follows:
CAUTION

Use only fresh water to service the lavatory water tank. Do not use water/MiraBowl Q
mixture (blue water). Failure to comply could result in damage to equipment.

If airplane is inactive and and is to be exposed to freezing temperatures, drain the water
tank as soon as possible after flight termination. Fill water tank immediately prior to
next scheduled flight. Failure to comply could cause serious damage to tank and lines.
NOTE
.
The lavatory water tank should be serviced before each flight to ensure a sufficient
quantity of water is available for flushing.

Lavatory water tank capacity is approximately 29 gallons.
a. Ensure electrical power is connected in accordance with paragraph titled Connecting External
Electrical Power.
b. Ensure COMP RLY circuit breaker on Flight Engineer Circuit Breaker Panel No. 5 is closed.
c. Open service panel door on bottom of aircraft at FS 815.
d. Open the lever lock cap of the fill/drain nipple (7).
e. Connect rinse water hose line of a Type A/S 32A-8 truck or equivalent to the fill/drain nipple (7).
f. Set the fill/drain switch (3) to the open position and hold until the VALVE OPEN light illuminates.
Release switch.
