Prior to pressurizing any hydraulic system, ensure that all personnel and equipment are clear of

ight control

surfaces,

ight control actuation mechanisms, landing gear doors, and landing gear actuation mechanisms. When

pressure is applied,

aps and slats move to the position selected by the control handle; aileron, elevator, and

spoiler surfaces snap to neutral; and main landing gear outboard doors move to full open.

The primary

uid by-pass valve on the external hydraulic source must be closed very slowly in order to prevent

extreme return pressure surges and possible rupture of components on the external unit.

d. Connect the proper hydraulic power cart hoses to the airplane external hydraulic pressure and suction

ttings.

Any hydraulic system that develops a misting/fogging type leak shall be depressurized and not repressurized until
the leak is repaired. Possible

re/explosion may occur if hydraulic

uid mist/fog is present.

e. Pressurize the applicable hydraulic systems, however, if any system develops a misting/fogging type leak, depressurize

the system and do not repressurize until the leak is repaired.

1.3.19

Disconnecting External Hydraulic Power.

(See Figure 1-31.) Disconnect external hydraulic power in the reverse

order of connecting external hydraulic power.
