A Dolby encoded bitstream can also be connected to any of the AERO.100 AES inputs.  The 
sample rate converter (SRC) MUST BE DISABLED for any AES input passing a Dolby encoded 
bitstream.  This setting is found here:  

System > I/O Setup > SRC Bypass.

UPMAX II with AUTOMAX source detection provides 5.1 surround viewers with a consistently 
excellent surround experience and is the industry standard upmix processor.  Uniquely, UPMAX 
II does not rely on detection of out-of-phase audio to produce the surround channel signals.  It 
produces an upmix that, when downmixed, provides a near identical stereo output compared 
to the original.  It also does a superb job of keeping dialogue out of the rear channels.  Viewers 
listening in stereo get a consistently good downmix.  It is a win-win situation.
