that the safety circuit of the mechanized irrigation equipment to be monitored or
controlled must not be bypassed or overridden in any way.
6. All OSHA regulations must be followed when installing FieldNET equipment. If you
have employees who climb higher than six feet they must be trained and certified in fall
protection. If they are not certified, they must be under direct on-site supervision of a
certified individual and climb 100% attached.
7. Installation of all FieldNET components must be performed by a qualified electrician.
8. Do not mount any FieldNET components where they can be struck by a mechanized
irrigation system (i.e. higher than the pivoting structure). Verify antennas will not be
struck by the mechanized irrigation system.
9. Do not attempt to wire any FieldNET components into an electrically live system. All
electrical power must be removed before installing all FieldNET components. Follow all
safety instructions associated with any equipment the FieldNET components are wired
into.
10. Never perform an installation during inclement weather because of the possibility of
a lightning strike.
3.0 FieldNET System and Components
There are nine main components to a FieldNET system.

A broadband always on Internet connection
such as a cable modem, DSL, satellite or local high speed wireless network.

Web Portal
–
The FieldNET website is the user interface for monitoring and
controlling the FieldNET system.

Service Plan
–
Required for each FieldNET RTU and Neulink or Skyline radio
Information and commands flow in two directions on the FieldNET system, from the web
portal to your irrigation equipment and from your irrigation equipment to the web portal.
